C&C TD: Published map not available for online lobbies

Product: Command & Conquer Remastered
Platform:Steam-PC
Summarize your bug Published C&C TD maps that show up on the workshop (and are working correctly in skirmish) does not show up in the "User Maps" section, I've created two multiplayer maps, both work in skirmish, both are uploaded to workshop via your map editor, none of them are visible and been over 24h hours.
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Just create a map and upload it, nothing fancy, check if map exists and is selectable in Skirmish and then go online and check in the "User Maps" section.
What happens when the bug occurs? Nothing, seems fine except maps are not available in the "User Maps" section
What do you expect to see? I expected to find my maps in the "User Maps" section

This bug originate from the steam discussion board, I strongly recommend you EA guys to periodically check those boards as well.

Please keep it updated when you work on this issue so we don't have to look in here to see progress.

  • My maps just uploaded to the User Maps!

I had to do a few things though. To all who read this do the following:

    1. Go to the Workshops and then go to your own personal workshop that have all your maps.

    2. Click on one of your maps, if you've reuploaded the map there should be a button called Change (view). Click that link.

    3. There will be a Steam license agreement that you need to accept before it will accept the latest published version.

At this point it may or may not work. If it does NOT work then continue the following steps.

    4. Open the Maps .mpr file and delete the line that has the steamworkshop id. Save the file.

    5. Publish the map as a new map after deleting it from the Workshop.

The maps should publish to the User Maps shortly thereafter.

  • This problem is still not solved or reappeared and has existed since beginning/mid of May. so for almost two months! affected is RAR and TD.

It is obvious that this is a global problem, since everyone who has tested it has confirmed the problem to me.

As described in the original post, the maps can be successfully published in the steam workshop, they are also displayed under "steam workshop elements", but they are no longer synchronized with CnC Remastered from there. as a result, the maps published in steam workshop cannot be found ingame under "usermaps" and therefore cannot be played in online multiplayer.

unfortunately there are no other ways to get the maps for the game. it doesn't matter whether an existing map is updated or a completely new map is published.
in the past this exact problem has occurred many times and has been fixed each time. the problem must therefore be known and should be able to be solved without difficulty.

EA, please fix this simple issue. these custom user maps is needed to keep this game live.

  • @psybin

It seems the problem has been fixed,

I uploaded 5 maps today and have them all showing up in game now ,It took about 1/2 hr for them to show up in game.

Though i already had 3 of them on the workshop and i had to change their UGC codes .

You can get a new ugc code by opening the MPR/INI file ,

    Locate the [Steam} section

and changing the PublishedFileId=Some Number  to PublishedFileId=0
  • After a few weeks where everything seemed ok and it looked like the problem was fixed whoooops the same issue is back again and newly uploaded maps are AGAIN absent from the in-game menu and they also canno't be downloaded using the "Subscribe" button

I would never expect from EA for such a contempt towards customers.... seriously what a shame

@dcom67 There's actually no need to manually clear the Steam ID; the editor has an option to clear it. On the Publish dialog of a published map, you can click the little arrow on the "Publish Map" button and you get an option saying "Publish as new".

    @Nyerguds

Yeah but that won't delete the old one on steam.  Then you have two of them and have to figure out which one to delete.

@dcom67 Not sure how that's relevant; clearing the id in the file also won't automatically delete the old Steam item (I mean, how could it? You just erased that information). I'm just saying there's no need to manually mess around with the file for something for which a function exists in the editor.
