Command & Conquer Generals Zero Hour not starting up after download and install

I've got the exact same problem with C&C Generels since yesterday.. Nothing happens when i press play!

Same Here. Tried to play last night, but none of the c&c games with launchers seem to work. When im given the choice between the base game and expansion, nothing happens when i make a choice. Games without launchers like Renegade and Red alert 1 seem to work fine. Running windows 8 x64

exactly the same thing here screen comes up but will not play ..only started the past few days been ok upto then ..any ideas anyone?

I did the uncheck origin in game thingy and it still doesn't load.

I can care less if this is a dead thread.  I am still having problems with this said issue.  Game just doesn't load at all and I have tried the "so called fix" which does nothing.  Has anybody found a true "fix" or a work around to get this great game working again?

Disabling "Origin In Game" and setting the compatibility level to Windows 7 did the trick for me.

I had the problem of not launching and not uninstalling.   So I did a regedit and went to this location:   HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE -> SOFTWARE -> Wow6432Node -> Electronic Arts -> EA Games -> Command and Conquer Generals Zero Hour -> ergc

I deleted the files and Generals reinstalled and works again with no problems.
