command and conquer generals
Command and Conquer Generals and Zero Hour do not launch at all. if i run as admin or just press generals.exe nothing happens merely a blue spinning circle as my cursor for a split second. this issue occurred for no reason and came out of the blue when i restarted the game after playing the shock-wave mod this was on windows 7. i own the disk version and not the origin version of both of these games both with valid cd keys. my hard-drive also died recently so i got a new one and installed windows 8.1 to it. i decided that i would install both generals and zerohour and surprise surprise the same issue was here. all of my other games installed correctly like BOI most unholy edition and Tib wars 3 + expansion Kane's wrath( also disk versions) unreal tournament 2004 also worked correctly. I am wits end on what to do and can not find a solution that works . messing with options.ini did nothing ( had to create the damn txt file too so obviously the game has never run on this HDD). I am becoming concerned that it may just be the PC itself thats the problem. also the game was running for the past year and a half completely fine.
