Command and Conquer Red Alert 2

Hey Interwebz Friends,

I purchased the command and conquer package (17 games) and am having issues launch my Red Alert 2.

What happens is I click 'play' for Red Alert 2, in 'my games' in the origin app. Then, a pop up comes up for me to click on whether I want to play RE2 or RE2:Yuri's Revenge (the expansion). It doesn't matter which one I click, but once I do, nothing happens. The pop up window stays open and doesn't react. I then close it, try to reopen the game via origin app, but I can't even select play anymore (the option becomes unhighlighted). 

Thoughts or suggestions?

I've uninstalled and reinstalled the game to no avail.

This problem is more recent as I used to be able to play it fine. I'm running Windows 8.

    Could you please try disabling Origin In Game to see if the issue still occurs after this? You can disable Origin In Game if you go to the Origin menu in the top left corner of the client, then Application Settings and Origin In game.

     The graphics system patch DDWrapper is known to solve the "black screen" issue for many people.

    Download the zip file and extract "ddraw.dll" and "aqrit.cfg" into your game folder. Then, open the configuration file "aqrit.cfg" in Notepad, change the "ForceDirectDrawEmulation" option to 1, save the file, and the game should work.

    I can't seem to find a repair button. C&C keeps freezing on me. Sometimes it's fine for 1/2 hour, sometimes an hour, sometimes 10 minutes. It was working fine 2 weeks ago, then updates changed it. I have tried every type of incompatibility and still freezes.
