Command and Conquer the ultimate collection VIRUS IN THE DOWNLOAD!

[Window Title]
C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\Command and Conquer Red Alert II\Ra2.exe

[Content]
Windows cannot find 'C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\Command and Conquer Red Alert II\Ra2.exe'. Make sure you typed the name correctly, and then try again.

[OK]

I get this error when trying to launch red alert 2 from origin via command and conquer ultimate edition

I am running win7 64bit

edit-there is a virus in the download

"virus.win32.suspic.gen" - this is the exact virus that is in the download.

Download at your own risk untill ea can get this fixed

I reached out to the studio yesterday and here is the official statement:

    • This is not the result of a virus and we are working to have the issue addressed on our end.  You should be able to play the game without issue.  We apologize for any confusion or frustration this may have caused

Really sad? No need for that. It's a false positive. Just ignore it and carry on with your life.

It's really sad to see, that some statement made in April has still not reached to become an action. Bought the "Ultimate (annoying) Collection" yesterday and now I got to face the same issue that is known since about half a year... I'd like to shout at somebody who's real, but the gaming-industry likely seems to love hiding behind help-systems in which they keep the might about what they do (if they do at least) without a need to face some real voices or something similar...

    [EDIT]

Okay, concerning the date I must admit that I was in rage that much, that I didn't even recognize the american date-format... but anyway now it's nearly two weeks for solving that obviously small problem?? I really thougt Blizzard perfectionized the art of having rediciulous explanations for rediculous problems, but that is really better than everything I ever faced concerning Blizzard... NICE WORK EA-TEAM!!! *puke*

False positives happen all the time, and are incredibly common among all major virus scanners. If you knew a thing about computer security you'd know that.

    >Solve that problem, please.

Like I've said around 4 times now and EA too, they are working on a fix.

  • I think the point is this never should have happened. How can a gaming company balls up that far? A virus, in the origin files.

EA, you have to **bleep**ing be joking.

It probably isn't the same thing. Make a thread for it and we'll work from there.
