Um.I'm not really sure what "No DVD-ROM" / "No CD-ROM" error you mean, but most errors like that are not caused by the discs but by operating system incompatibility (specifically, Microsoft decommissioning SafeDisc). What game are you actually talking about?

For the newer EA games (C&C3 and beyond), you can simply redeem your game serial in the Origin system; there is no need to bother the people on the live chat with that. And of the older games, a bunch of them (C&C1, RA1 and TS) are freeware.

And those in between, Red Alert 2 and Generals, don't exist as separate products on Origin; they're only on there as part of C&C: The Ultimate Collection.

    I checked it, it's caused by the disc and I talk about Command & Conquer The First Decade. I had to search all over the internet for a solution when I had this issue and I just wanted to post the fix to help people who still has this issue.

    Again, The First Decade is not one game. It's six games. and the reason it no longer works is because Microsoft released a patch that disables SafeDisc/SecuROM, the DRM system used by TFD. It is unrelated to the disc itself.

    The Unofficial 1.03 patch for TFD already removed all requirements for the DVD anyway. Though many of its patches have been rendered obsolete by newer unofficial patches:

    • The graphics system patch DDWrapper is known to solve the "black screen" issue.
      Download the zip file and extract "ddraw.dll" and "aqrit.cfg" into your game folder. Then, open the configuration file "aqrit.cfg" in Notepad, change the "ForceDirectDrawEmulation" option to 1, save the file, and the game should work.

    I talk more about Command & Conquer Generals and Zero Hour. I heard about the patch but it didn't help me, it might help other people so I guess that's a way to fix the "NO DVD/CD ROM" too.

    Not sure, actually. I heard some people say it was technically possible for the EA people to control exactly which games from the Ultimate Collection pack you got, but I don't think that was ever confirmed. And I sincerely doubt they'll give you all the newer C&C games for free because you own The First Decade.

    Though, if they did indeed give you a partial Ultimate Collection with just these first games (C&C1 up to Generals/ZH), it'd be nice to have that confirmation 🙂

    Sadly they didn't give me any Command & Conquer game, but they gave me a list of some fine games and told me to choose one. Of course I had to prove I bought the game before. But yeah it's very kind that they gave me a gave instead of (bugged) C&C The First Decade.
