Re: Games Missing

@ponic3 Firstly, you come over as a bit hostile by saying "Real answers only: "EA Play is crap" is not an answer" and "I don't have multiple EA accounts, I'm not an idiot". Nobody is calling you an idiot. So, please stay friendly, even if people ask simple questions, and I will try to help you out 🙂 Remember that on this forum 95% of the help comes from people who have no affiliation with EA and are just doing this in their free time to help people out 🙂

Ok, first, can you report the EA App version number that is reported by the "About" menu option in the EA App? Also, where did you originally buy the Ultimate Collection? Not only through EA Play right? Directly from EA or which website/retailer? Also, are you absolutely sure they don't show up when you click on "view all" under "My games" in the "Library" section of the EA App?

Hey, I come off as hostile as sometimes that can be my experience online when asking a question and I can have an ornery way about me sometimes. Doesn't make my tone cool just because bad experiences. My apologies. To answer your questions

    App version is: 13.27.0-5540-4ac8828f3

I bought the Ultimate Collection directly through Origin. The MIA games are "Tiberian Wars and Kane's Wrath" as well as "Red Alert 3 and Uprising". They are the only 2 games from the Ultimate Collection that I had to mess around with a bit to allow modding. 100% certain they are missing. I can play them manually by opening up their exe folders, but the problem with this method is if I ever have to switch computers, or the hard drive they are on craps itself, I'll have no way to reinstall them. Also they have no cloud save capability because EA app doesn't recognize them as existing

1 more thing: they are not showing down below as potential downloads. Weird thing is, when they are turned on the EA app opens and tries to grab the cloud data, so it's like it knows that it is there and should be there but is completely unable to display them for some reason. It's confusing

@ponic3 Would advise to uninstall the affected games completely through the "Add or remove programs" feature within Windows, then remove any remnant mod-files from the original install directories of the games, uninstall the EA App, re-install the EA App and re-install the affected games now. Does that help?

But that`s the thing I`m worried about. If I uninstall the games and EA play doesn't accept them as being there, I'll have no way to reinstall them. The cloud doesn't like them because how they are functioning and refuses to sync data

@ponic3 Sorry, but I can only advice you these steps as a solution. I would advise you to try it to double check with my steps that it is not a system-side issue (I expect it is and gets solved with my steps). If the problem remains, you can always contact EA support to re-add to your library as it is then likely not a system-side issue, but an account issue. If you are not willing to try my steps out of caution, then probably no one can help you here as this forum's posts are 99% only answered by community members.

When I had missing games, EA tech support asked me to clear/rebuild the program's cache. You can do that by pressing the three-lines icon, going to "Help" and then selecting "App Recovery". This fixed all problems for me.

Note that in the new app, all expansion packs are grouped together with the main game (even when not indicated as such, like on RA3), so those aren't missing; you get a popup for them when selecting to launch the game.

@Nyerguds Oh, interesting, never heard of that 🙂 Good to know for if others ever present with the same issue. Hopefully your steps resolve the problem for the user 🙂

If games are still missing after that, you should just contact EA tech support; they can actually look into your account and fix such issues manually.
  • ea pretty much steals games from the library at this point. steals c&c dlcs and disables older game functionality like burnout paradise.

@slipgatetourist I'm not sure what you mean. As I said, all expansion packs are grouped together with the main games. So they don't appear in the list, but they are available by clicking the main game.

I'm posting again as I don't know how to contact EA tech support, can someone direct me, please? I keep getting sent to the forum, but apparently my issue is too unique to have a fix. Games are still missing.

@ponic3 So the base game entries for C&C3 and RA3 are missing, then, and an App Recovery didn't fix it?

As for contacting tech support, Just go to help.ea.com, select Command & Conquer: The Ultimate Collection, pick the closest topic you can find (probably "I need help installing a game"), and when you go in there, there's an option to email tech support.

There used to be a live chat, but I can't seem to find that anymore...

@Nyerguds I didn't see your post. You know how on the Ultimate Collection when you open RA3 or C&C 3 it opens a launcher to ask which edition you want (base game or expansion). It is missing from EA play. The games are installed on the system but EA play does not know that they are EA games. This means that if I ever lose this comptuer I'll lose those games as it doesn't know to install them. They are the only games that I modded.

I've emailed them, they were...tbh completely useless. They asked me to uninstall EA play, which I won't do if I lose the games (I've tried asking them but they won't answer that question), try clearing the cache (no success), try app recovery (no success). I don't think this issue is fixable so for all intents and purposes it seems EA stole 4 of my games. Could I buy them cheap on STEAM? Yes, and I might have to, but it bothers me because I already own them and it just feel wrong that I have to pay for something I already own

Strange. I tested this on EA Play, and it worked fine. The only downside I can see is that since they are on the same main icon in the list, installing the base game always installs the expansion pack as well, while before, the base game could be installed without the expansion. And while the RA3 icon in the list is missing any indication that it includes the expansion pack, clicking the icon did indeed pop up a box asking me to either launch the base game or the expansion.

Maybe you just need to uninstall it and reinstall it, so the system has them combined as it expects them?

@Nyerguds I can't uninstall them, I'd have no way to reinstall them. The games are on my computer but the EA Play App doesn't recognize them as EA games. If I open their exe they open like normal, but the EA app does not know they are EA games.

They are the only games out of the Ultimate Collection I downloaded the original opening windows for so I could mod them, but I have no way to change that

@ponic3 So wait, the installed games are not recognised in the EA App library? But then you should have an icon to install them in your library, no?

What you said before made it sound more like the icon is in your library but just launches the main game right away. Then it is recognised, but the expansion isn't, and it seems to me that that is simply because the old Origin version didn't have the little launcher app with choice screen. The only way to get that new component that wasn't there before is just to reinstall it, so the system can add it.

@Nyergudsin that case, clearly I was vague. The games are installed on my computer but the EA App library does not have an icon for them. I can't reinstall the games as there is no icon. I've scrolled to where games to install should be, nothing there, either. I need a way to get the EA App library to recognize these games as EA games

@ponic3 You only spoke about the expansions though. Are the main games not listed either?

@NyergudsYou are correct, neither is listed. The launcher that is supposed to pull up the option for the vanilla or expansion is not listed

Edit: EA basically told me "that's a *, your games are gone, we might release an update to fix this in the future." So it seems they actively stole my games
