Re: Red Alert 2 not working on EA app

Using EA app. After the last update you guys had, its all broken. (last update i mean was many months ago, then i quitted cause of that). Loading screen and stuff are all good, but when i choose my game, its all only on the little section of the left side of my screen (taking about 1/4 of my screen space) and its all completely black and purple..no other colors.

As others have stated, when I launch the RA2 YR from the EA launcher, I get the initial launch menu. Once selecting either game, my screen is black, audio is playing in the background, but I cannot do anything or see anything. 

Hi, I have this problem too.
All games work for me except RED ALERT 2.
I can hear the sound but there is a black screen.
I log in through the EA app on my computer.
can you help me?

This is so dumb. Why can i play Aoe2 so easily, yet C&C is such a problem??

I have installed the CnCnet client but I am still unable to launch RA2 or YR. Any other ideas?

I cant find anywhere to send a complaint too but this was the dialogue I had today regarding getting this game working. The chat was closed by EA after my last message. I have removed my email address from this thread in case its public

Warning to everyone thinking of or trying too use Command & Conquer

Hi all,

I got the the game running however i have not found a possibility to save the game if you want to take a break and to reload where you were. find in the files the exe file gamemd.exe . it is a start...

How did you get it to run?

I tried canceling the EA overlay

Tried to install the CnCNet5_YR_Installer

Tried as administrator, tried in compatibility mode to windows 8/7/xp/98

All i get is a message that the game has not been released. 

Replying to myself - this was solved by running the game with a user that has an admin role and not within a "child" account that was limited by Microsoft
