Yea, in the C&C universe this is a common theme however. Take the Kane obelisk for example, if you get within 2 range, it will begin to warm up. Even if you move 3 even 4 range from the tower, as long as it still has sight, it will fire and hit the target.
I think the only exception currently in the game is the disruptor tank who will shoot and you can see the beam hit the target, but it will not do damage if the target is beyond 2 range.
Really? I have used Kane but never used his Obelisk. I'd only pop it out if there is like 1 or 2 vehicles. I think the obelisk is too expensive at 140, it should be 100. Also if the obelisk starts to warm up, it should continue to do so if there's a unit within range. Could one command the obelisk to shoot at a vehicle when its about to fire?
Speaking of Obelisks, I thought of a crazy GDI/Nod unit that is available to each side. One side stole the blueprints of another, both GDI and Nod stole the obelisk and the mammoth tank at the same time. The result of this monster is a walking obelisk that can shoot vehicles and run over infantry but has poor anti-air rockets. It's anti air would deal the same damage as a zone trooper who's shooting an infantry. It is also extremely slow, so a MG nest can shoot it from a distance cause the monstrosity has far less strength compared to either obelisk or mammoth. It would be the most expensive unit in the game, the developers should name it and give the price, but my price recommendation is 300. Its range also downgraded due to the fact that the mammoth's engine can't handle the power required to launch a far ranged lazer.
