Red Alert 2 & Yuri's Revenge Safedisc/CD Check problem
Hi
I have CD's for both Red Alert 2 and Yuri's Revenge, however at the present time I'm unable to install them, having investigated why it seems the reason is because the games installers are infested with safedisc and the safedisc driver has been disabled presumable by a Microsoft update and with good reason because the safedisc driver is buggy, antiquated, insecure and a security problem.
This however leave me in a difficult spot I paid good money for those games but now because of the copy protection that YOU !! put on these games I'm no longer able to install or play them, this is not an acceptable situation, so now EA needs to provide me with a fix.
Therefore I'd like to request a clean copy of the installer so that I can get the games installed, I'd also like clean copies of the games executable files, so that I can actually run the games once I have them installed and I'd also like the CD Check for both games removed so that once I have copied the games mix files to the RA2 directory I can run the game from the hard drive and not have it continually ask me for the CD.
Now while it is possible to do this my self using third party tools / cracks, I would prefer EA to step up and do the right thing and provide an official fix for this situation, especially since using third party tools / cracks is at best a questionable, and at worse completely illegal.
Oh and before I forget this fix needs to work for Windows XP, and one other thing don’t even suggest that I reactivate safedisc because it was disabled for a good reason and doing that is not secure.
