red alert 3 on windows 8 64 bit

I had the same problem at steam version.Game starts with compatibility mode for Windows XP SP2 and administrator.

So for me I have an old version... and you know I have a physical copy of the game.
But when I click to open the disk it just straight up sends me to installation without me needing to look at the files. While this is nice I need to be able to look at the files to see if it is corruupted or anything because mine just freezes after getting to about 1 forth of the way to done... Anyone know how to get it to show the files. I'm on a windows 8.1...

Ok so I figured it out but do I launch autorun or easetup?
Also my laptop is making sounds that almost resemble a train... Is that good?
