Running Command and Conquer Ultimate on Windows 8

Hi there,

A month or so back I bought the Ultimate Edition of C&C as I felt like playing all the games again on a single platform. Unfortunately after downloading them through Origin, not a single one worked giving the DirectX Error rubbish. Ive spent weeks trying out various online solutions such as changing the resolution in the options.ini file to deleting the debugging file. None have made any difference or even had an effect.

Some people apparently can play these on Windows 8 but I have no idea how.

Im running them on a Windows 8 X64 bit operating system with 8Gb of Ram  and a Radeon Graphics card. Direct x is fully up to date and I've tried every game from Generals zero hour back.

Does anyone have any suggestions as when I contacted Origin they said its not supported on Win8, which I think they should now advertise on their products page as most computers come with it pre installed.

I would really like to play these again as I'm none to fond of the way the series is going and think that the previous games may be the last generations that are appealing to me.
