I firstly play the game on singleplayer to try it and skip the online feature at first.
But these days when I try to login to get access to the multiplayer I simply can not connect to the EA servers.Is there anything wrong on my redeem?I heard some of my riends' DS 2 multi works perfectly fine on origin.But the steam version can only get to play the singleplayer.You guys have any ideas how to fix this?

DS2 is on sale on EA platform now!
You MUST have an activated game of DS2 on your Origin in order for Steam to communicate with and to play multiplayer. It appears you dont need the same game key, its been reported you can buy another one on sale for your Origin/EA account and it should all work ok. Of course at that point you can just play thru Origin/EA and not use Steam at all if you want.
The issue is that Steam is selling game keys that do not activate on EA.
I just talked to EA support and they ae now saying to contact Steam about any Key issues. They would not give me a new key or add the game to my Origin. You lucked out my friend.
what sucks is it still doesn't work through steam at all. I really wanted to play the multiplayer again
So I also have this issue, glad I was able to find this post. Anyway it sucks if I have to contact support about this to get it fixed. Thanks everyone for the info
So i bought the game and received the same message saying "unable to connect to ea servers", so i contacted ea support and told them about it and from what they said, i understood that the key steam gave me was invalid on origin and they added dead space 2 to my origin account with a new key, and now the steam version can be linked to origin and everything works perfectly fine.

btw I have also your same problem but this guy has even got the public steam profile and I can see him playing with even the button "Join Session". The servers are up but not everybody can play for some reason.
