Dead Space Remake: Can not delete old saves, save game or load old save
I am playing Dead Space Remake on a PC via steam and using Steam Cloud. At one play session, I found that I could not save a game, load an old save or delete old saves. At the start of the game I was only allowed to continue the last game, if I tried to open a prior save, the game crashed SILENTLY. If instead, I continued the game and tried to to open a save station, the game similarly again crashed SILENTLY without any error message or workaround suggestion. If I turn off cloud save and then MANUALLY delete a sufficient number of saved games, I can then run the game normally. Unfortunately, steam cloud when re-enabled simply restores the games I MANUALLY deleted and the game returns back to the broken state.
It is exceedingly impolite that the game crash silently, there should be an error message or at least an obvious and clearly stated log in TEXT, not binary that clearly describes the issue. I spent considerable time debugging this EA caused problem. it was not at all obvious that the problem was something as simple as having too many saves. But the question is why there is a silent crash? Is it not possible to look at the list of saved games and show a message stating that there are too many saved games? I agree that it doesn't help that Steam Cloud wants to restore the old games, but this is fundamentally an EA problem; to allow the game to silently crash is either exceedingly impolite or an egregious display of software ineptitude (possibly both).
When will this GAME BUG be fixed?
