directx dxgi_error_device_hung

So before I get the copy paste response of rolling back my AMD driver to 22.5, I did that and it doesn't work (please people do not waste your time rolling back it does nothing and the fps is worse with 22.5 anyways)

I had absolutely no issue when the game launched, I had a play time of 17 hours before the first patch came out and had no crashing issues.  Then the first patch and all of a sudden I can't even play an hour without this error and it's frustrating, yesterdays patch did nothing either.

It's not my device because I can play every other game with no problems at all.  My gpu is not overclocked, I've tried every "fix" out there and nothing.

  • I do have this problem as well, though I never had the opportunity to play. I only get 10 to 30 seconds into the very first cutscene before my entire system freezes. Before going through the goose chase, I was getting that error and the game would simply crash.

Anyways, you'll probably need to post your DxDiag.

I was playing on high settings with absolutely no problems with 17 hours of total gameplay, until the first patch came around.

@maortzu Run through the following and see if this helps.

    Delete Windows Temp Files

    • First, make sure you close as many programs as you can
    • Press the Windows key + R, go into the file explorer
    • Type in %temp%, and hit Enter
    • Delete everything it allows you to delete
    • Reboot the PC

    Optional Registry clean-up

    • install CCleaner (it's free) from here
    • Run Registry cleaner
    • Click review selected issues
    • Do you want to back up? No
    • Click fix all selected issues

Go into your control panel, and uninstall all Direct X and C++ lines you see.

Each game you install updates these, but does not repair or install fresh versions, so getting rid of them and updating them with a new install should help.
