PC version completely unplayable

Ok I have wasted $60 on plenty of games but at least I could play them before I decided I didn't care for them. Dead Space 3 for the PC crashes at the end of the opening cinematic every single time. I have tried several of the ideas already posted and I have been fiddeling with settings for about 3 hours now and am getting no where. My computer is:

ASUS G73JH

Intel i7 CPU 1.60 GHz

6 gig memory

ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5870 w/1 gig memory

Realtek High Definition Audio

All drivers have been updated. At first I couldn't get the menus to work properly but after reseting the diplay settings to default I was able to get a curser and work the menus. Every thing is fine until the end of the opening cinematic at that point I get the saving game graphic for a second and the curser displays but the screen goes black and freezes. I have to do a hard reset (power down) to get my computer back.

It also seems that there is no support from EA or the makers of this game. I find this completely unacceptable. I realize that this game has only been released for one day but to put out a product that does not work doen't seem like much of a business plan.

Even so I am still willing to try to get this game to work so if any body has any other suggestions I would be willing to try them. I have been messing around with the settings in the system.txt file but nothing has changed any thing. If someone who has the PC version that is working would you be kind enough to post your system.txt file so that I can compare settings.

    How did you even install the game???? I've install mine about 5 to 6 times now and it shows 100% finished and the goes back to 25% and its stuck. i've been trying the last 24 hours to get this product to work. Ive turn anti-virus off, everything is upto date. I've had computer tech check my pc thinking its my pc and i'm running.

    Is it just my copy thats this stuffed up or what? I'm running Windows 8 upto date, DirectX 11 upto date my graphics card upto date.

    Come on EA your then this crap....

    Hi noeljones,

     

    Please try disconnecting any peripheral devices like a controller, joystick, headset etc. and restart the game.

     

    Some players have prevented crashes this way in this thread.

    Alright I tried that... I even unpluged my mouse and used just thr touch pad on my laptop and still no joy... Everything is fine until the switch from the opening cinematic to the actuall game play, then freeze. I am posting a fresh dxdiag in case someone can use it to get this to work. Otherwise .... eh you know.

    Ok just an FYI there is more to my dxdiag file but I exceeded the character limit so if there is some important data missing let me know and I can post more....

    I have the same issue, literally cannot play, I'm not even lucky enough to get a beginning cinematic.

    This is rediculess, to spend money on a game that is completely unplayable and then to get no response from the manufacturer.... 

    Anyway back to the front.....

    I am moving this post back to the front page...... I seems such a shame that us PC players can't get any help with this problem.... But what do they care, they got thier money. I can tell you this I will never buy through EA/Orgin/Game Stop again..... Very sad indeed.......
