Re: [PC] Dead Space Remake stuck on launch

Hi,

The game is not started properly, it opens 2 windows then minimizes them, and opens the EA app back up without starting the game.

The game was downloaded with Xbox Game pass, the accounts are linked properly.

I have reinstalled both Xbox and EA app, reinstalled the game, the same issue occurs.

Other games from EA app work fine like Battlefront 1 and 2.

Thank you for any help you can provide please.

@zaxcer Thank you. Found a few issues on the error report.

FDGalileo and Dead Space are crashing quite a bit. FDGalileo (Assuming this is Jurrasic World) seems to be registering as Malware.

    1. Update your software and drivers: Ensure that both the FDGalileo and Dead Space applications are updated to the latest versions. Also, update your graphics drivers and other system drivers if updates are available. I noticed that there is a newer update for Nvidia.
    2. Check for Windows and GPU updates: Run a complete scan of your system to check for any malware that might be causing these crashes.
    3. Uninstall both games for the moment to clean up the PC.
    4. Check your system's memory: Faulty RAM can often lead to crashes and other instability. Run a memory check.
    5. Change UAC Controls within Windows (change back once tested)

    Delete Windows Temp Files

    • First, make sure you close as many programs as you can
    • Press the Windows key + R, go into the file explorer
    • Type in %temp%, and hit Enter
    • Delete everything it allows you to delete
    • Reboot the PC

    Optional Registry clean-up

    • install CCleaner (it's free) from here
    • Run Registry cleaner
    • Click review selected issues
    • Do you want to back up? No
    • Click Fix all selected issues

    Reinstall the game.

Run the exe as administrator and test it out

@2zuwas9w4a4x Thank you for the file. Here is what I found on yours.

    • Check for Windows and GPU updates
    • Check your system requirements - If you have an SSD and HDD, install to SSD
    • Reinstall the game
    • Run the System File Checker tool
    • Put your device in a Clean Boot then launch the game
    • Try the Game in different Compatibility settings
    • Try Safe Mode with Networking
    • Try a new Windows Account
    • Change UAC Controls within Windows (change back once tested)
    • Remove any over-clocking or undervolt settings or software and check if the issue continues

Please remember to restart your computer after each step to ensure any changes take effect.

Thank you @EA_Shepard, your mentioning of the "registering as Malware" got me on track, i use enterprise level EDR software which i think was interfearing with the DeadSpace.exe file.

I created appropriate exclusions in the EDR program's policies, it no longer uses the mechanics of injecting its .dll files into other processes in the DeadSpace directory. The game runs flawlessly, thanks again and have a nice day.

PS. it also helped me with Jurassic World Evolution 2, thanks!

    • Check for Windows and GPU updates / DONE
    • Check your system requirements - If you have an SSD and HDD, install to SSD / SSD already
    • Reinstall the game / DONE
    • Run the System File Checker tool / DONE
    • Put your device in a Clean Boot then launch the game / DONE
    • Try the Game in different Compatibility settings
    • Try Safe Mode with Networking
    • Try a new Windows Account
    • Change UAC Controls within Windows (change back once tested)
    • Remove any over-clocking or undervolt settings or software and check if the issue continues

I updated above with DONE , still the same issue.

BTW, this is frustrating that all other games except this one, you realise that means that the game itself is not Optomised correctly right? Having to ask the end user to jump to so many hoops for something is baffling.

I will try the other options soon but at this point I don't even want to play the game anymore
