Re: Xbox controller not working

I have tried both plugging in the controller before opening the game and after opening the game. One thing I have not tried is reinstalling the EA app. I'll try that next. I have the same issue with Battlefield 2042 and Need for Speed Hot Pursuit Remastered. I have many other games in the EA app that do not have this issue. I am fairly certain these three games need a patch to get the controllers to work.

I just tried reinstalling the EA app and it did not fix the issue. Ubisoft had a similar issue and a user in the community had a fix to edit the config file which did work. I'm pretty sure this is a similar issue with dead space remake, Battlefield 2042, and need for speed hot pursuit Remastered. If you can look into this, I would greatly appreciate it. There are many people with the same issue with the same game titles.

There are many users posting this issue on reddit, YouTube and the answers hq. I'm sure the ones who do not have this issue are the people who purchased their game through steam.

This does not resolve the issue completely. The issue remains that I have to unplug all peripherals in order for my controller to work. If I plug in ANY of those peripherals at any point after the game has started, the controller will associate commands to the wrong buttons on the controller and the game becomes unplayable at this point. I literally do not have this issue on ANY other EA games. This is a result of the PS import of the game and the complete lack of input differentiation support. This is a basic issue that you could even fix with a prompt at start up to choose which input you'd like to use. This is an easy patch even without that so why is it that it hasn't been implemented over three months after the launch date?

I get day one issues like this, but not having them patched by now just shows an astonishing lack of support for an A-List game and tells me all I need to know regarding EA future releases.

I tried everything you suggested and still does not work. I also uninstalled the game completely and reinstalled. Still, the Xbox controllers do not work. I have tried the Xbox one controller and I also tried the Xbox series s/x controller, both with updated firmware and plugged in and Bluetooth connection. I've had the game for two months now and have not even played it once because of this issue. I was thinking of buying the new Star Wars game but I'll hold off until you guys can fix this small issue of controller input on your library of games.

Yeah, I have the Xbox app, Xbox Accessories, Xbox Console Companion, Xbox Game Bar, and Xbox Insider Hub. I keep them updated every time I use my PC and I also updated the controller firmware on three different Xbox controllers. Still no luck. Most games in the EA app work fine with controller but a few don't. Like Battlefield 2042, Need for Speed Hot Pursuit Remastered, and Dead Space Remake do not work with a controller. Ubisoft had a similar issue but the community had workarounds to edit config files. Ubisoft finally fixed the problem though. I've been waiting patiently for two months since I could not find a similar workaround and EA or the developers hasn't fixed it yet.
