RTX 3080 GPU Power Usage Drops 100+ Watts

Hello all.  About five or 10 minutes into playing the game on the EA App (doesn't seem to matter where in the game), my GPU power usage drops from the normal 310-310 watts to anywhere in the 200s. This results in enormous frame rate issues, and makes the game unplayable. This is the only game where I have this GPU power usage issue. I've also noticed this problem isn't exclusive to playing at 4K - playing at 1440p hurts the GPU power usage, as well.

System specs: RTX 3080, i5-11400F, Windows 11.

The game is installed on a NVME SSD. I have tried rolling back to a previous graphics driver, turning off graphical settings, repairing and reinstalling the game, making sure the game is installed on the C Drive (it was initially installed on my D Drive), deleting the shader cache and letting it recompile, turning off overlays, and countless other troubleshooting steps. Anybody having the same problem?

  • Turn on vsync in Nvidia control panel and turn it off in game turn on triple buffering if its off.

Also Windows 11, navigate to Settings > System > Display > Graphics > Change Default Graphics Settings and enable Hardware-Accelerated GPU Scheduling.

    See if this can help.

If this does not help I guess next update should fix it.

Please leave feedback so someone can pass it do devs.
