***Steam*** Dead Space 2 De-Authorization Tools

@Sinth4565 Hey, so if I am reading your post correctly do I take it that you have Dead Space 2 on Steam and Dead Space 1 on disc and it is Dead Space 1 that you are attempting to deauthorize? If I am reading it wrong please let me know.

Other way round trying to download the tool for dead space 2 which is not existing anymore, but as far as I know both have this stupid secure rom.

I know for sure EA origins got the De-Authorization Tools already included in the uninstall, but I do not know if steam got it or not. otherwise this game got just 5 activation and it would be unusable.

So you have digital copy downloaded with Steam?

1. Both, the Dead Space 1 and Dead Space 2 Origin Versions support the German language.  (You should be able to redeem the Steam CD keys, or your CD keys if you have the games on CD, in Origin if you wish to do so.)
2. AFAIK, If you have Dead Space 2 as a digital download from Steam, you also don't have to worry about the old DRM. Steam's own DRM method should apply here. 
3. GOG games are DRM free.

Nicht ganz so richtig. Da EA region restricts languages, heisst england bekommst du nur amerikanisches englisch (Nichtmal britisches englisch) etc. Bestaetigt beim EA support. Habs auch mit registry probiert und mit spach  patches(virus alarm) nichts funktioniert.

The EA version still contains secure rom DRM( I played it a year ago) as well, thats why they include the tool in the uninstall file, but does the steam version includes it for DS 1+2 and the GoG.com version doesn't include i need to know by sure... Otherwise Im crying loosing one of the best trilogies ever made.

So in short:

Steam version:

DS 1 +DS 2 Does it include the uninstall De-Authorization Tools? Or anyone can tell me where to get it for DS 2? As this website is DS 2 link down (http://activate.ea.com/deauthorize/)

GoG Version:

Did GoG/CD Project Red get rid of the requirement for De-Authorization Tools or is it included in the uninstall file as well or did they completely remove secure rom ( don't think is possible as written in game code)

I know its not an up to date game, but does anyone know for sure.

I am a German, living in Germany. So, yes I can read german. 😉 But because we are at the English section of AHQ here, we have to continue in English.

So you live in England?

For GOG. All GOG games are DRM free.

After a little research.. The Steam version of DS2 still uses Solidshield/TAGES DRM.

It is not on Steam because it is on EA's own client Origin.

I can't say for sure, but I think it is highly unlikely that the game will ever be available on Steam

This is why I just can't bring myself to buy ANY of EA games anymore, I simply can't trust them.
