first check your save file to make sure it is ok. should show the correct save slot, difficulty setting and percent complete. copy to a flash drive. delete the save from your system. delete the GAME DATA file. reinstall the disc- let it update- redownload from the store any add ons you bought if any, re-install your save file. continue from last save point . should make it past elevator. common freeze points are elevator rides and ANY auto save point. (approach them slowly. ) If you are playing new game plus the game seems to freeze more often. read my other posts in this forum to see all the issues and attempts to work around. multiple consoles (4), discs 🏀 , and user names (4). EA finally gave me a DOWNLOAD of the game. I have now played standard, new game plus to 100% and am currently on hardcore playthrough.
So I can do that with the PS3 system?
I have beaten the game on every level except Hardcore. I love going back and just playing the game and adjusting my weapons.
I already deleted my DATA portion and reloaded the game and all of my add ons. Same result. I will try saving my "Saved Data Utility" to a flash drive.
one other thing i found will reduce freezes. disable your internet connection while playing. This won't help if you need to do a co-op but it will help quite a bit. I know that some people have had no issues with this game but we are now on page 34 in just this thread alone. It took me almost 60 hours to finish the game because of the many freezes and starting back a level or two. EA worldwide customer service has been very helpful in working with me. I tried all manner of things as "experiments" working with them. One of the tricks that worked on one PS3 system was to delete the game data , disable the internet, load the disc and play the unupdated version. (no co-op of course) That method actually let me play standard and new game plus error free. When i went online (mandatory update) to do the co-op the freezing started all over again. I tried several different combinations on 4 different ps3 consoles. some worked better than others but all failed eventually. as i said before - the download version (from PSN store) has worked error free. Ea has no idea why - but they did tell me that due to a major personnel change at viscerasl games (original programmers no longer employed there) that there likely will NOT be any kind of patch for the game.
