Bioware's abusive forum moderators

Dear EA,

I've just been banned for 2 days because I allegedly submitted a sexual picture with a small text of what I wrote: “I sleep good now” on the Antiva Or Taventer? Thread.

This is the photo that I posted up: http://berserker79.deviantart.com/art/Dragon-Age-II-A-Little-Wolf-for-Danarius-482260513

In the description of the photo clearly indicates that the Tevinter magister Danarius just got done inspecting the lyrium marking that he infused in Fenris, and was satisfy with his experiment. Their is nothing sexual going on in the photo, and if the moderator actually took the time, and perhaps sent me a PM asking me what I meant by what I said before banning me, and asked details of what was going on in the photo then perhaps things would of turned out differently, but no. Instead of the moderators taking time to send me a PM he/she's fingers started getting ban happy.

I really wish you could provide better training for your moderators, and that banning people for x amount of days should only be used for serious offenders considering the fact that they're dealing with people who are actually customers of yours.

  • An addition I really wish that these moderators would actually reply to PMs that they get regarding to a mark or a ban that was handed down to a member. I've recived previous ban and strike, and when I sent the moderator that gave me the mark/ban a PM in an attempt to fight the ban, or mark that was given to me... they didn't even bother to reply back to me. I never felt so insulted in my life. I mean how rude can these moderators be?

As a paid customer of yours EA I feel that it is within my right that these moderators must reply back if they're going to put a strike on my account.... especially when it comes to a ban. I have the right to voice my objection, and to recieve a reply back.

BW forum moderators are useless. I suggest simply not entering that forum.

Answer HQ is not the right forum to voice your complaints. This is a forum where players ask other players advice with technical and in-game problems. If you want to complain about EA staff, you should contact customer support. http://help.ea.com/contact-us

To dispute a ban, send an email to accountdisputes@ea.com

Not having spent any measurable time with the newest Bioware forum, I am not sure if Chris is still Supervisor of everything relating to their forums, or if he is even still employed there.   He was fairly conscientious about replying to PMs there when it was the Social Forum, and previous to that, at the Legacy forum.

Chris left EA. He now works for CD Projekt Red as community manager for The Witcher 3.

Jessica Merizan is also no longer part of BioWare, and the only mods on those forums have generic usernames. There aren't that many BioWare people who still post on the forums.

Thank you, Fred_vdp, Gorath_the_Elder, and sundance31us for responding to my post.

Sundance31us, Unfortunately I'm unable to view the site rules URL that you've posted up because my account is completely locked.

I receive the following error when I try to navigate anywhere (but the legal section) on the forum:

Sorry, you don't have permission for that!

Your account has been temporarily suspended. This suspension is due to end on 25 January 2015 - 07:55 PM. More Details [#1001]

It would have been nice if we had access to this page while our accounts are banned so that we can submit an email ticket to fight the charges instead of waiting until after the ban has been lifted. It would be also nice if the moderator that does the banning give us these instructions if we felt that the ban or strike was unjustified.

Anyhow I've I've already sent an email to accountdisputes@ea.com a few hours ago and now I've sent another to [edit: email address removed].
