Dragon age Inquisition --CPU overheating

Nothing changes after i have triend all the support solution from the community and EA. A lot of PCguys with the same problem. Let's hope Bioware and EA will hear our scream and fix this. ☹️

For those with overheating issues, please post your hardware specs (CPU and CPU fan brand and model), your CPU load when playing this game, CPU idle temperatures, and CPU temperatures when playing this game.

Games don't cause overheating. The game may cause high CPU load, but if the cooling solution can't handle it, then you really need better cooling. If your think your cooling should suffice but doesn't, make sure your PC interior has good airflow, good cable management, and enough case fans.

I personally have had no issues with temperatures in this game. I ran CoreTemp while playing, and my max temperature was about 51°C when exploring Crestwood.

This is with a Cooler Master Hyper T4 fan.

Also keep in mind I'm not denying you have PC issues, just that I don't think the game developers are to blame.

Odd, my CPU does not run any hotter on this game as compared to the mentioned games on this thread.. infact Im surprised that it rarely goes above 35% CPU usage. 4790K

Are you using intels devil canyon cpu?

For those with CPUs overheating, try to buy a new CPU air cooler. Since intel's stock heatsinks are below average, and especially if you bought an intel K processor it would be a waste if you did not use a custom heatsink.

Had this problem in my i5 4670k last year - even on stock clocks/voltage, I'm reaching 80c  with intel burntest and other cpu stress test benchmarks. =| After upgrading the heatsink with a cheapo 20-30 dollar heatsink, I'm currently running at 4.5ghz overclock and max temps are 70C for core1 and 67C for the other cores in dragon age. In stress tests, I'm still reaching 75C for Core1, but that is still acceptable.

The game isn't causing overheating guys... Check to see if your heatsink is mounted correctly, and make sure to add new thermal paste. Artic wind is by far the best for this. Dragon age uses 100% of my CPU just like DA:O and DA2, its just how the engine is. my temps never go over 50C. For anyone else reading this DO NOT allow your temps for your CPU to go over 70C any hotter and it will cuase slight permanant damage to your cpu. Be mindful of your temps.

Yesterday my CPU (4770k) temp was approx. 80°C after 2 hours playing. I noticed that not during my gaming session, but i saw the temp going down rapidly after closing the game. Had no errors though, only the case was really hot.

So today i found this topic and updated my Z87 board to the latest UEFI firmware. Now i have played for 2 hours. Max-temp was 55°C, like every other game so far.

I'm trying to keep my drivers up to date, but forgot the bios update over at least a year. Thanks for that tipp!

Unless Frostbite has somehow gained access to the FSB/Clock settings in the UEFI/BIOS, then this game is not causing CPU overheating.  This game is incapable of causing the CPU to overheat.

The cause of the CPU temperature is high CPU utilization and inadequate cooling.
