Dragon Age Origins serial number is too short!

Sorry you encountered this issue.

This is a known problem, (there was a defective shipment to a specific UK retailer. Twice.)

The EA Game Advisors are supposed to provide you with a valid (20-character) code.

Only thing to do is contact them through the Help Center. 😕mileyfrustrated:

(They should all know about this by now. If you get one who doesn't, hang up and try again.)

EDIT: Newly discovered information:

Tell the Game Advisor to search the Help Library for an article with a beautiful little name, it's called:

"How to Handle Incorrect Key Code Reports For Dragon Age: Origins Ultimate Edition on PC".

(I didn't choose the title!)

Talking about terrible customer service...

I purchased the retail version (Ultimate edition) a couple of weeks ago from Game (UK). I unwrapped the game this morning and tried to activate it. No luck!

I found this extremely useful thread and decided to contact an online EA advisor. I gave them the code and apparently it was all sorted out. I checked my games library but there was no game there. After a further two discussions with online advisors (I provided them the receipt and registration codes), I was informed that my code is "used" i.e. registered under another account and nothing can be done about it. Game in the bin... I was offered a 15% discount code... not certain why they think I will ever use Origin again.

@deleterpan; See the post above yours. Tell the Game Advisor to seach their special tech library for the article cited.

If you have the "16-character product code printed on the manual" problem, it is EA's fault. They will provide a valid code.
