EA Launcher canceling DA Game Launch

I was playing Dragon Age II when the game crashed. At, first I wasn’t too bothered as old games crash all the time, but now I’m concerned as the EA launcher won’t let the steam game launch initialize. I keep getting the error message that says “there seems to be a problem on our end” (EA Launch app) without specifying said problem. Now I’m just frustrated because I would like to play DA2 but I can’t even get into the game because of the launcher issues.

Did you clean uninstalled EA app?

    If not:

    Please clear your temp files:

    • Press the Windows key and "R" at the same time to open the Run dialog box.
    • Into the new window, type or copy & paste:  "%temp%"  (Without the quotes.) > hit "ENTER"
    • Now your Windows Explorer should have brought you to the "C:\Users\>your user name<\AppData\Local\\Temp" folder. > Delete all files and folders in it.
(If some files or folders can't be deleted, reboot and try again.)

    Then:

    • Go here and download "Revo Uninstaller. (The freeware version, Portable version works too.)
    • Run "Revo Uninstaller" > EA app.
    • At the end of the main uninstall, Revo will ask you which cleaning method you want to use. > Select "Advance" > Browse.
    • If "Remaining registration content found" is displayed > Select All > Delete > Next
    • When "Remaining Data and Folders" is displayed > Select All > Delete.
    • Restart the PC
    • Download a new EA app setup exe from here. (Do it even if you already have the installer!)
    • Install EA app.
    • Run EA app as Administrator > Click the EA app shortcut on your desktop > Run as Administrator.
    • Test.

Do you get any error messages?
    Did you restarted your PC?

Please add a DxDiag to your next reply.

A DxDiag is an overview of your PCs technical features and recent software errors.
There is no personal info in it except for the “Machine name” in the second row. (You might delete the “Machine name” line if you wish too.)

    How to create a DxDiag:

    1. Press the Windows key and "R" at the same time to open the Run dialog box.
    2. Copy and paste or type "DxDiag" (Without the quotes) into the new field. > ENTER
    3. Wait until the green bar is gone > Click on "Save all information"
    4. Save the file to your desktop.
    5. Attach the DxDiag file to your reply (paper clip symbol)

Hi again! It was working yesterday well with no issues at all, but today it won´t launch again:/ i tried to repeat the same steps as yesterday but now that doesn´t work anymore

  • Hey! i wanted to say for you that the instructions above by Holger worked so please try that! I think for me it was the link i have used before to download the app was outdated. I hope that will be your solution too!:)

Hi, i wanted to update you that i have done these same steps before. BUT this worked now, and i think it is because the app download page is different than what i used before so i think that was my solution. THANK YOU, for fixing either the link for download or the app. Which ever it is i am able to play DA2 now again:)

It’s a 14-year-old game. Why am I being forced to jump through all these hoops just to get it to launch?

Every other game I own — including ones even older than this — runs fine through Steam. It’s only EA games that give me constant problems. I shouldn’t have to uninstall launchers, clear temp files, or mess with the registry just to play something I already paid for.

Maybe EA should focus less on forcing people to use their buggy launcher and more on making sure their service actually works.

  • Hey, i have the same problem that it launches and then says ‘there seems to be a problem on our end’ and i have done all i was instructed to do. I updated my computer and graphics drivers as i was told, i restarted app many times, i also cleared the cache many times. I have uninstalled the game AND the EA app many times.
i have checked the files in steam and restarted steam multiple times. I also cleared the ‘license’ files and tried opening the game and still nothing.
I have done so many things that could possibly help with this and yet nothing seems to be helping me. I contacted ea support twice today and everything they told me to do didn’t help.

PLEASE let me know someone has a solution for this. I really want to play Da2 before i hop in Dai😭🙏🏼
