Ferelden Locks

Hello,

So I am writing because this is becoming increasingly frustrating. I have been having issue with a particular Requisition quest. It involves Ferelden Locks. I have cleared the entire map of the Hitherlands and I am now no longer able to obtain them to complete the quest as no more mobs who drop them are roaming the area. I realise that requisition quests repeat, and are not essential to the story line, but now this quest is stuck in my quest log. Is it possible to drop quests? Or is there still a chance for me to complete this quest? Are there specific humanoids that drop these locks, or is it a type of mob that no longer appears because I have killed them all off? It seems odd that a repeatable quest, would require an item that can no longer be acquired. If anybody has a solution for this please let me know, otherwise it's back to square one on my 60 hour playthrough.

I don't know neither, have the quest since days and walked across Hinterlands a lot of times, without getting any locks, quest locked to 3/5 and no damn way to get them.

It's a random drop from humanoid enemies in the Hinterlands. Keep kiling bandist and other humans to get a chance of a ferelden lock loot.

920, Once the Hinterlands is cleared the fereldan locks no longer seem to drop. The way you tell if you've reached that point is by checking in with Mother Giselle (in the chantry building or in the gardens, depending on your base). If you ask her how the people are doing 'everywhere else', she will report on the state of folks in Redcliffe, Crestwood and Emprise du Lion. If her Redcliffe one no longer has the 'refugees are starving and freezing' status, but more that they're well fed and comfortable, Hinterlands is cleared. And the Fereldan locks won't drop anymore. So yeah, I think it's a bug to have that situation when you have a quest that relies on the locks.

Really? I recall having no problems getting them to drop from outlaws... Then later on in the game.. Certain factions move in that can drop them as well IIRC.

Weird. Because I'm getting neither Fereldan Locks nor Orlesian Cultural items (Ancient Writings and Orlesian Tomes). I haven't even finished the Exalted Plains (where the Orlesian Culture recipe is), and the cultural items aren't dropping.

after the last patch i have been getting the dwarf puzal box in the requisitions before getting the cage which you need the locks for. and by the time you get that request you have clerd out all of the hinterland of all that carry the locks

I am level 14, cleared the area and have ZERO locks. This is pissing me off. I keep going back, fighting outlaws, carta, those red dudes... nothing. Not one.

They are typically dropped by bandits around the Southern portion of the map. It's spawn chance is apparently tied to the "completion" of the Hinterlands zone.

Again, I am back in this area, just wandering around and killing. Nothing. Do they NOT drop at a certain point? I even made sure I had the quest set as active.
