Game went slow-motion after installing Jaws of Hakkon

I have been able to run DA:I pretty much perfectly, at least there haven't been any major problems.  Until I installed the new DLC. Now the game is in slow motion, my Inqusitor needs two seconds to take one step, turning takes so much time I shouldn't even bother with it, when trying to tak to someone (and in cutscenes) the audio won't have any problems, but then I need to wait a while for the video to catch up. Also, the keyboard doesn't want to respond well, sometimes I need to press a key several times before the game reacts to it.

It's pretty much unplayable. I've tried lowering my graphics settings and various tips for raising frame rate posted in other topics. So far no help. And I doubt my computer is at fault anyway - as I said it hasn't had a problem before. I don't want to uninstall the DLC because I bought it for a reason.

I'm open to any suggestions.

I always start with a game repair and defragment (if you have a standard hard drive and not an SSD). Just in case something installed stupidly or your hard drive needs a touchup.

Something else to try is to disable Origin Overlay and run with Origin offline when you play.

  • I tried all that and got my keyboard responsive again, but the game's still slow-motion.

ETA: it's definitely the DLC at fault - I uninstalled it and the game runs smoothly again. I'd still like to play the DLC though.

  • I am also having this issue, whilst slow motion running is quite heroic in the movies it makes killing enemies in game a pain in the bum.  I have reinstalled the whole game twice to see if that helped and also did a repair etc but it has not helped.  Hopefully something can be done to fix this issue.
