HeyI'm currently level 17/18 and I've started questing in the Exalted Plains. The mobs here are generally level 11 with some around level 15.And boy, am I getting my assed kicked! I cleared out all of The Hissing Wastes without any problem where the mobs are higher level.What's going on? It kinds sux because I don't even get any XP for killing these low level mobs...Also, doesn't it suck when you are ready to close a rift after killing the mobs only to find that you can't switch to the Inquisitor because of a bug?

I'm having re same problem. I am also at level 17. It seems like all the enemies are at level 11, except for the fade rift demons, which are at level 15. The problem I have with this is that we get no xp from killing any of the enemies since the xp you get from killing enemies more than 5 levels below you goes to zero. I wonder if there is a bug that made the enemies appear to be level 11.

I have never seen a bug like that mentioned. The experience stops when enemies are 3 levels or lower than you. As for being quite challenging, if you are playing on nightmare, even mooks are going to give you a challenge. If you are not playing on nightmare or hard, then I would suggest you are probably using under-leveled gear if it is taking you more than a minute to wipe out a group of 3-4 enemies. Either that or you need to learn how the combat mechanics function to make sure your warriors are doing enough armor penetration to actually hurt the enemies. I know my gear is good. I actually slaughter all of them quite easily. But the level indicator that you posted says that the enemies should level up a little bit to give me a challenge. Even the hinterlands has enemies higher than the exalted plains. It's weird because I'm going in the order, of exploring areas, the same way the area level post says. There's no way enemies at the exalted plains should be weaker than that of western approach, Crestwood, or even the hinterlands. My problem is that I get no xp from killing any of the enemies in this region, save for the rift demons.

Do you have a weapon with "berserk" equipped?If you're on PC, could you upload your latest save file so we can try it out?

Sorry, you stated you were having the same problem. I assumed completely the same. I never bothered to look at enemy levels, because I don't farm them for experience. I only go out of my way to attack random enemies to collect materials like cloth or leather, so I can't really say what the enemy levels were. It is possible once you move beyond the top range of that enemy type, they default to a certain level. Meaning if an enemy can be level 10-13 and you progress to level 16 (3 levels beyond its top possible level) that the enemy will default to 11. At that point it wouldn't matter if it was level 11, 12, or 13, it would give no XP. So perhaps the programmers coded it to default to level 11 unless you were still earning XP from them, and then more complex coding kicked in to determine if it should be level 11, 12 or 13.

That makes sense. I guess I'll go to other areas so I can gain max xp then come back here. No sense leveling up with quests here and screwing myself in other areas.

I think I'll contact them and find out what the deal with that is. I'll post here if I get anything back.
