How to limit fps to 60?

I have activated Vsync and run the Mantle version but the FPS go always above 60! How can I limit/cap the fps to 60? External programs/shaders don't work with mantle and Vsync aparently doesn't limit the fps.

Try adding this to your Command Line Properties: (In Origin, right click and select Game Properties)

    -GameTime.MaxVariableFps 60

--Edit: Changed the fps to 60. Adjust the number to whatever FPS you want to cap.

DISCLAIMER: This isn't an official EA or BioWare solution, but it's easily "undone" and requires no modifications of any DAI config files:

I created a new shorctut to DAI, but changed the "Target" field to this:

    "C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\Dragon Age Inquisition\DragonAgeInquisition.exe" -GameTime.MaxSimFps 60 -GameTime.ForceSimRate 60+

Everything else stays the same as the default shortcut the installer created.  To "undo" the change, simply don't use this shortcut to start the game.

  • I already have those parameters running. It makes cutscenes run in 60fps but the normal game doesn't stay at 60 but goes higher some time. Like 90fps.

I have Nvidia's Shadowplay FPS monitor turned on. I'll see FPS numbers as high as 200 during blank screens or other static screens, but when gameplay or cutscenes come up the FPS quickly locks into 60 or lower. I can assume the small lag in getting to 60 FPS is due to time averaging of the FPS value.
