Patch 3 Shield Bug
After installing patch 3, all my crafted shields had their armor rating reset to 0 and every time I try to craft a Darkspawn Alpha Shield and equip it on my main character, it's gone after a save/loa...
I have to be absolutely honest here, I'm not a professional beta tester, though I have done it before. And partly due to my job and personality I can be quite detail oriented and **bleep** about some things.
However, after patch 3 I posted about the walk/run toggle not working (later solved as the fps fix is the problem) I completely missed that the shield's armor ratings were 0, simply because during that particular 1-2 hour session, I didn't re-equip or craft new gear. Even if I crafted new gear I still may have missed it as I vendored the old shield if i wasn't paying attention.
I only knew about it because someone on the walk/run toggle thread mentioned it... While I'm frustrated too, I think it's we need to chill, I want it to be fixed asap too but for now it's only been a day or 2. I'll give Nils the benefit of doubt for now. But if it takes 2-3 weeks then that would test my patience. In this case it's something that will affect your playthrough quite significantly.
Then there are all the other bugs... When will the "The Fall" mosaic in Hinterlands be fixed for example? While not game breaking per-se I'd like to see those get fixed too...
I'm not saying they shouldn't be completely blameless nor am I saying we should crucify the devs/testers. But we're all human, we all make mistakes, some bigger some smaller, some unforgivable. I just saying we should have some moderation.
I'm also not blaming specific people. Of course one can miss certain issues. Two can miss vertain issues. Even three or more people could make mistakes. My naive hope though is that there are more than a handfull in Biowares QA department.
Well...I too like to play DAI on the weekend, but I have a backup plan: I never actually took Iron Bull with me because he is not a real tank (and since my own character is an archer I need a tank normally). I guess I'll take him for a stroll. :D

You can actually set up 2H Tanks FYI... 🙂 I Have Blackwall and Bull specced as 2 Handed Tanks.
Interesting. Well I guess here is not the right place but could you send me a PM describing how you set them up? Thanks in advance.

Sure I guess I can send you screenshots of the skill trees.

heh, Iron Bull gives you wings. He is one hell of a tank with the right skill point investment into the tank tree and his specialty trees. Along with the right masterwork on his armor and weapon. I have gain 3 guard on hit for his crafted weapon and heal 20% of damage taken over 10s on his crafted armor. Along with some of his specialty skills deep into the tree and the guard from the tanking tree and taunts he is one hell of a beast. but that's more late game though, as you're pushing level 20 on him. so it's good that you bring him out later. he gets the job done early, but you need to use potions on him and revive him once in a while until he has enough skill points and the right balance of abilities to survive fights without taking much direct damage. He is one hell of a beast though mid to late game. I stopped using cassandra for him in the early teens lol. so this patch hasn't worried me too much with the hsield issue, i don't think I'll need cassandra to tank much since the dragons seem to peck at the archer or myself or whomever they please anyways.
