PC DA: Origins Not Launching Saves and Missing Downloaded Add-on DA: Awakening

Hello, I've been having problems with PC Dragon Age: Origins for a couple of weeks now.  First, I wasn't able to launch the game, and was getting the error on the PC EA App:  Failed to launch game.  An error on our end caused the launch to fail. Try again a little later.

So after multiple attempts to launch a saved game, I followed suggested solutions on the EA Help Website, and I uninstalled the EA App and the game and reinstalled both.  Now when I try to launch a saved game,  it gives me the error:  This saved game cannot be loaded. It requires the following content: Dragon Age: Awakening.  So I tried to uninstall and reinstall DA:O again, but still getting the error.  However, when I look at the list of downloaded content the EA App shows that Dragon Age: Awakening was downloaded/installed with 4.15GB.

Maybe it's something with my computer, I don't know. I don't think so, I haven't made any changes, it just suddenly decided not to play.

Then lets have a look at your PC.
Please add a DxDiag to your next reply.

A DxDiag is an overview of your PCs technical features and recent software errors.
There is no personal info in it expect for the “Machine name” in the second row.
(You might delete the “Machine name” and “Machine Id” line if you wish too.)

    How to create a DxDiag:

    1. Press the Windows key and "R" at the same time.
    2. Copy and past or type "DxDiag" in the new field. (Without the quotes) > ENTER
    3. Wait until the green bar is gone > Click on "Save all information"
    4. Save the file to your desktop.
    5. Here at EA Forum > Click Replay > Click the paper clip icon at the bottom of the replay Window.
    6. Navigate to the "DxDiag.txt" on your desktop > select the "DxDiag.txt" > click on "Open".
    7. Reply.

Your graphics driver is a few months old, and has some known problems.

    1.  Follow this manual to the letter to clean uninstall all NVIDIA/AMD graphic driver components.
IMPORTANT: if you use a Pin to log into Windows 11 don't use DDU in safe mode!
Use it in your normal Windows session.
    2. Install the graphics driver > Go online.
    1. Test.

Oh boy. I'm not really comfortable going that deep into the techie stuff. While I know how to use a computer and the programs, the inner workings of the computer really puts me on edge.

I've got the Revo Uninstaller program - would that work as well? It goes into the registry to get rid of extra files of the program you're uninstalling. I'd rather use that if you think it will work. Otherwise, I'll bite the bullet and try the DDU program. But I have no high expectations of success, mainly due to my own inadequacies when it comes to IT.

I've never thought to uninstall the video graphics. I'm really nervous about trying it. But if it works, it'll be worth it to play the game I've spent so much money on (with the DLCs and such on both EA and Steam).

Again - thanks for your help and patience.

The manual is actually a manual to use DDU in the correct way. 😉

It really is a step by step guide that is not complicated at all.
As easy as Revo but for a driver.
Just remember if you use a Pin to log into Windows 11 don't use DDU in safe mode!
Use it in your normal Windows session.

That would be even easier btw.

If the safe mode part scares you just use DDU in Windows.
