Since 5/5(before I downloaded Black Emporium) I've been having a problem with some characters freezing in tactical camera during battle. It was a single character until today when I had two freeze in a battle. They always unfreeze at the end of the battle(if I survive). I can select them but I can't control them. I've been playing pretty much every day since the game came out and this is the first time I've had a significant problem.
asked an ea advisor : he suggested to downgrade to a patch that doesn't cause the glitch , but that is not an option for me because I picked up the game again to play the dlcs ( which require the latest patches) .
I wonder , this seems to be quite a big issue , and it's cross platform : how is it there are so few reports ? and why it has not been already addressed ? is bioware even aware of this bug ?
It was introduced, for me, a couple patches ago, so would have to really go back to avoid it. I am also surprised not seeing more posts on it, unless it is not affecting many systems. Would have seemed like a bug that is not hardware specific. I am seriously considering dropping the game again, itI have noticed it not only affects party players but uncontrolled characters, like the allied Templars in Champions and even enemies. Really makes for an absurd and frustrating experience when it hits.
im having the same problem.
Started playing dai again a few days ago and my main (dual wield rogue) freezes a lot.
It starts working again when i do a ability like twin fangs. Havent tried jump yet 8)
Didnt notice others freeze yet.
During the first tutorial part of the game where you fight the first demon my
main char froze constantly, wich wasnt a plesant experience 😎
If this keeps happening, i'l probably wait for a patch before i go any further.
Was thinking about buying the expensions, but with this bug in the game
i dont think i will.

can confirm it happens to the controled character.
exiting tactics screen and either jumping or using a ability will get the char unstuck

It happens in tactics mode only as far as i can see.
it happens to all characters in the party, not just the controled one, and even mages get frozen.
the end fight with this tevinter magister guy to get the mages support was realy funny this way (NOT)
since i do all fights in tactics mode i would call this a MAJOR bug

that is definitely a different issue : for the ones posting in this topic the game won't freeze , just the characters during combat . I think you should probably open a new topic for that .

I'm also having this issue. My characters freeze in almost every engagement. I have a dual wield rogue as my Inquisitor, but it can happen to every character. My group is usually me, Cassandra, Solas and Dorian, and they will all get stuck from time to time. I can't quite tell when or why, but usually it is when I'm using tactics mode, but usually not when I'm focusing on that particular character. The character becomes unresponsive, and won't take orders. The only ways I have found to fix it during combat is either to exit tactical mode and have the character jump, or else use the disengage button (while time is moving) and then give the units orders again.
The issue goes away when combat ends. Like I said, it is not rare, it is happening in basically every engagement, and in long engagements, it happens even more.
