For anyone else affected - I have contacted EA support and after being bounced around for a while wound up talking to a rather helpful person in the tech department who has informed me that this is a known issue affecting users with Kepler-based nVidia cards (ie. the GTX 6xx and 7xx series). Bioware and nVidia are working on a fix.

Personally just curious if this is happening on certain laptops or custom built PC's - Also think you could post the keyboard and mouse make & model?
It kinda sounds to me like a driver issue, or possibly a 3rd party application.
