I've been around the community for every Dragon Age launch (and Mass Effect for that matter). What happens every time is that people look at the new characters and find that they don't like them as much as the old characters. Then they get to know the characters and all is well.
I don't have any secrets about the new characters, but I do know that the characters from Origins, 2 and Inquisition attract interest, fan fiction, art and endless discussion. I don't know whether the new characters will elicit the same response, but on the basis of part games (and we've been here before) I think there's a good chance.
Time will tell of course.
I disagree. If you watched the latest gameplay videos by streamers, it gets worse.
