[Feedback] Hold to Sprint request (current one is game combat breaker)

 On PC it’s a requirement for the players to HOLD the Shift button when they need to sprint and when they release Shift, the character goes back to jogging. It gives much better control over the character's movement, especially in combat and especially with the type of combat Veilguard has: red zones you need to evade in time to avoid damage. Controllable sprinting gives much more room to evade for the player than jogging, which makes a proper sprint control a requirement.

 Veilguard currently has NO WAY to stop sprinting unless you come to the full stop releasing all the movement controls, which is gamebreaking (especially in combat)!

 So to make it clear: when you jog by holding W, you push Shift to start sprinting, but then to stop sprinting and go back to jog you need to release W, come to a full stop and then press W again. It’s not just uncomfortable, it’s the worst of all possible sprint implementation that removes control from the player.

    @NoWayCheating

    Thanks for sharing your feedback! We appreciate all the details you provided. Controls are always a big topic in these types of games. Especiallyufor myself as I have to use a controller over M/K. It is good info for the community and the games team to take a look at!

    We'll pass it on to the team so they can check it out and continue making the game even better for everyone!

    Cheers!

  • @NoWayCheating  I just tried it, and hold shift to sprint works perfectly for me. The character doesn't have to come to a full stop to stop sprinting.

    Do you have the right sprint mode selected? In the control section, under sprint control, you have toggle, hold, and press. What you want is hold, but it seems your game is behaving as if press is selected. Are you saying you have this problem with the hold mode? If so, that's a bug and I'm not experiencing that.

    Thanks @Fred_vdp

    @NoWayCheating Wanted to follow up on this one and see if anything had changed!
