[Feedback] Veilguard isn't the game i want

Providing this as feedback to EA in the hopes that they decide to get Dragon Age back to a real-time strategy, or any kind of strategy game.

Dragon Age 2 was tough enough to deal with, but this is horrific. If i wanted a souls-like, I wouldn't be buying buying dragon age.

I'm not sure what the target audience for the game is, but it sure isn't "people who played dragon age".

  • I do hope that BioWare can course correct for the next one. I really like Veilguard, but I love Origins, and would like them to return to their roots. Veilguard feels a bit too much like BioWare is copying the formula of financially successful AAA experiences that are technologically impressive but mechanically shallow.

I think the main issue with Veilguard is that nothing in it really challenges the player. The puzzles are little more than press a button to open a door somewhere. Combat is simplified to the point where your party members are mostly just for show. Crafting was removed entirely and now all we got is an extremely unsatisfying randomized loot system.

Some depth would be appreciated. Puzzles that make me think, letting me control party members, no limit to mapped abilities, and actual crafting. I think all of those would improve the game.

From what I've seen, Origins is called out more than any other, but that is a hard comparison because you have DA II and DAI, which were a bit different. I would love to see another DAO style modeled. I am an RPG fan, though, so I do like the more classic feel of one vs. action. I've had tons of fun and more than one playthrough in this title, but I would love to see another DAO type.
