It did not help me after all, replayed the intro with hair strands off, and crashed within a few minutes. Perhaps it has something to do with the selective RT?
Perhaps we are just screwed until Bioware finds a fix.
Having my PC reboot constantly is making the game near unplayable.

I have the same problem. I have i9-14900K and RTX 3070 and the game worked great on ULTRA settings before the patch, the same day I updated the game started crashing randomly and it's getting to the point where I cannot even bother to play. Sometimes it crashes in seconds, sometimes it takes minutes but it works for 2 hours tops and then crashes. It's pissing me off!

I was having the same problem. I solved it by:
1.) Switch off v-sync
2.) Set. Frame rate cap (put mine to 120 fps)
It hasn’t crashed since.
Hope this helps

I am having the same issues that others reported. Running a 4080 graphics card and an i-913900k with 32GB of installed RAM. I couldn’t load the game at all on launch day, deleted the shaders as someone suggested in a thread and added the game manually to the Graphics management section of Settings. I was able to play with occasional crashes at start up and during gameplay. I got to level 14 before patch 1 and since patch 1 I have been unable to launch the game at all. I have tried reinstalling the game, even tried reinstalling Steam, nothing helps.
