Crashing on start up (steam)
Game is crashing every time on start up. The only thing that has somewhat remedied this is deleting the shader cache folder, but that then causes the game to stutter frequently when playing. Please help!

I also have this issue. It alternates between two scenarios. Either, when I launch Veilguard, the entire screen goes black and a small purple loading sigil begins to spin in the lower righthand corner. It spins for 2-8 seconds, then freezes; then nothing ever happens. Or: Black Screen, purple loading icon, after a few seconds the game closes. No error code, just closes. The one thing that remains constant is that I can't start the game. I have no issues with other demanding games, so my PC is hardly the issue here...
Yeah that’s exactly what was happening to me. Deleting the shader cache folder fixed that though, I’m not sure if you’ve tried that. I also updated my BIOS and since then have had no issues, even with the shader cache folder present.
Try verifying the game files in Steam. Go to the game, right click, properties, installed files, verify game files. Mine found 2 corrupted files and fetched new ones and cleared this up for me.
