DAV Crashes and disables my GPU, ruins the GPU software install

I have just recently tried to start playing DAV and I am having a problem where after playing a while, (it can be a few minutes to several hours) my monitor goes black and then reports No Signal.  My CPU has on board graphics support so I can usually just switch what port my DP cable is plugged into to recover my PC at least partially without having to force a power cycle.

My PC specs:

Processor    AMD Ryzen 5 7600X 6-Core Processor                4.70 GHz
Installed RAM    64.0 GB (63.2 GB usable)
System type    64-bit operating system, x64-based processor
GPU AMD Radeon RX 7900 XTX

These crashes seem to occured while I am walking through an area and a new dialog happens, possible with a new quest objective attached.

I had seen a thread on Steam about a similar issue with Nvidia https://steamcommunity.com/app/1845910/discussions/1/4635986512580710901/ and tried using the AMD DAV beta drivers as my rollback, but that has not done anything to alleviate the problem.

When the GPU crashes I have to re-enable it in Device Manager and reboot my system. When it crashes it also does something to the AMD Adrenaline software, it say download error when I try to access it and I have to install it from scratch.

Besides trying an older driver, based on some web search suggestions I have tried a complete clean reinstall of the GPU driver and software.

I would love a solution to this so I can play the game.

  • Experiencing a similar issue, though I do have to power cycle my pc to recover it. Though my crashes typically happen outside of dialogue.
