Game causes keyboard to drop inputs

Don't know if this has been reported by anyone else. I'm playing the Steam version of the game on keyboard/mouse with no controller plugged in. Whenever I try to type in a different window (e.g. Discord, Firefox) while the game is open, the inputs sometimes don't go through - and this is only while the game is open and not the focus ("minimized"), whether borderless windowed or fullscreen. It seems the game is trying to use keyboard inputs even when minimized (unsuccessfully - the inputs don't go through in the game either, even outside of menus). To give an example of inputs not going through, I tried to type "I wonder if there's a way to file a bug report" in Discord and it came out as "wnder if there' a way to file  bu report." This does not happen when the game is closed/exited. (I've been having a rough time typing this bug report lol.)
