I’m having the same issue after just purchasing the game on Steam. Clicking play opens up the application to a black window that then closes after 20-30 seconds.
Spent hours today trying every possible solution I could find online. Deleting shader cache folder, updating graphics card driver, reverting graphics driver, updating Bios, repairing installation, multiple reinstalls, checking windows permissions, etc.
The standalone Character Creator ‘demo’ app in Steam works just fine - no issues or crashes with several hours playing.
