Gate of Pale Reflections Boss Not Spawning on PS5

I am currently working on the quest, Gate of Pale Reflections, but the boss does not spawn after destroying the Blight pod and then getting rid of the roots with champion essence. 

I have noticed that if I leave the area the blight pod respawns for some reason but not the gate. So that might be causing it. Ive fast traveled before and after breaking just the pod or the gate or both and nothing will get the boss to spawn. Plus the marker is still there like I haven’t put the essence in and destroyed the gate. When I do load the save though, everytime, Rook says something about breaking the Blight Pod even though it’s still there. 

I’ve been trying to figure this out for almost 2 hours.
