Keyboard mapping problems

It's really frustrating. Games that fail at this level of UI/UX really do deserve to fail at market. I truly think this is due to a shift to console-centric game design pressures resulting in most of the dev team not having any experience, or at the very least forgetting, what common PC game control conventions have been in place for decades.

They only fixed the WASD to arrows bug. Not the other keybinding bugs. I still can't remap Map to Tab, for example.

Still a problem after three patches, including one that allegedly fixed the arrow rebinding. Get your **bleep** together, please, BioWare.

I've noticed an interesting overlap of problems here: some some functions aren't available in keybindings at all. For example, I like to have all of my buttons on my left hand, so for decades I've been rebinding Map to G in other games. Because I can't rebind Map in Veilguard settings, I programmed my keyboard to switch the key functions when I'm in the game. Then I discovered that I can no longer view details of an item in my inventory. The "View details" key is hardcoded to G, and of course, if I press G in inventory, the map opens instead.

So not only do they need to enable rebinding of all of the functions that are currently shown in the controls, they also need to add in the other functions that aren't even available in the controls.

Just confirming that keybinding is still an issue after the first patch. I tested and was still unable to remap Map from M to Tab.

Edit: Still still an issue after the third patch, which allegedly fixed the arrow key rebinding issue. No clue if it fixed that, but I still can't remap Map.

It's not just WASD/arrows that won't rebind properly, so it's way more than just the left-handed people affected. It's unbelievable that this wasn't caught before launch.

please help us, this affect 10-15% of all gamers.

I just started the game and tried to remap to arrow keys. I suspect mapping was built in for basic keyboards only? Let's go EA, get this fixed immediately. I know no other way to control my game, without my arrow keys!

I find this keyboard mapping issue highly questionable.
This is not possible in 2024.
I personally have trouble using the WASD mapping with the hand that is supposed to be there.
I can't replace WASD with the arrow keys, just because the arrow keys are bound to the eye? Are you kidding?
All AAA games have the ability to do this!
And I regret trusting EA again.
If I had purchased Veilguard on Steam, at least I could have gotten an immediate refund of the purchase.
Since it is unplayable for me.
