Preorder bonus armor missing
Preordered a physical copy of the game. Been playing through the story, and there is still no bonus armor showing in my inventory. Anyone else dealing with this glitch?
Hello! I had the same issue on xbox, but it was actually my dumb mistake and I should have known better. (Source: i work in game dev!)
Note: You mentioned pre-ordering, but not that you redeemed a code that should have come with your game (physically given to you by a retailer, or emailed to you via the seller if you ordered online)... so if you didn't redeem a code, then that's your culprit.
However if you did, and you got a pop-up upon unlocking the wardrobe at the lighthouse and THEN not seeing your preorder gear, read on!
When you're adding an add-on or dlc to any game, you have to close and re-launch it before it shows up 99% of the time. Playing on Series X, I had Quick resume on, and if PS5 has a similar feature then this might fix it.
Each time you save and close the game and shut off your Xbox - quick resume basically "parks" your game, so when you click on it again it will almost instantly load up to the exact screen you exited the game on...which means, over the course of 30+ hours since redeeming my code - I never actually closed and relaunched the game. I'm guessing Ps5 may also have a similar feature?
If yes, turn the feature off, and fully close the game, when you load it back up, it will be in your wardrobe just like it informed you it would be. You'll know it's a full close and reload if you see the EA/Bioware/Title spash screens!
(Yes, I felt dumb as heck when I realized what the problem was after complaining about it on twitter and having someone ask "have you rebooted the game?" and realizing oh crap, technically - no.)
Hope this helps!
(If it doesn't, sorry- but i figured I'd post it in case, and for any Xbox users who may Google the problem!)
Thanks so much!!
This fixed the problem for me. After i turned off Quick resume, shut of my Xbox and then re-launched the game, the dlc items were there.
Glad I could help!!
You do know you don't have to turn off the Quick Resume to completely close out of the game. Once you are on the Xbox Home Screen, Just highlight the game, then hit the menu button on the Xbox and it will give you a list of what you want to do. Go to the option of quit game and the game will fully quit without having to turn off quick resume. That is what I do.
