Veilguard Audio bug

So from the first cutscene on my audio has been very glitchy, robotic, laggy, etc. I've adjusted setting,. made sure drivers were updated and pc meets requirements and it continues to be buggy. it makes listening to the game almost impossible.

  • Bioware is supposedly releasing a patch this week so finger's crossed they address this. I and many others have tried so many ways to fix this and none of it has worked.

The only thing I haven't tried is updating my bios but I'm reluctant to do that and I kinda doubt it will even change anything.

    Hey Everyone,

If you are running into an issue with sound crackling or cutting out. Try disabling any extra sound features on your device (Like Dolby/DTS or Windows Sonic), and disable the 3D audio setting in-game.

After, restart Veilgaurd and let us know if this continues.

If this continues after today's 1.0.0 patch, please let us know the following:

    • EA ID (PSN ID/Gamertag):
    • Which platform are you on?
    • What type of audio device are you using?
    • If possible, share a Screenshot or Clip...
    • If on PC, share a Save file for our team to look at.
    • If on PC, please share a DxDiag file and an EA app Error ID Number

    Cheers!

    • Pc/steam
    • Have tried it both via Realtek HD Audio (via headphones) and Nvidia HD Audio via Dell S2716 DG Monitor
    • It's hard to an adequate clip with a 75mb limit but I tried to show one here

Still having issue regardless of settings (low/med/high) v-sync on/off (even tried vsync on 1/2, 1/4). Checked that Windows Sonic is disabled. Checked that all audio enhancements are disabled. Tried different sound bitrates in my sound settings (no improvement there). Tried via Monitor audio and onboard audio.

Of particular note is that I do have the game for my Steamdeck and it will run there without audio issues. My steamdeck is definitely less powerful than my cpu so if it were a case of performance causing the audio troubles then I would think that steamdeck users would also report this, or that simply setting my graphics setting to the lowest possible would fix it (doing that does not help)

I'm also still having this issue. The patch didn't fix anything lol

For some reason I was able to get through the entire intro part and the first area but right after meeting the veil jumpers my audio started doing this.

I'm honestly thinking of trying for a refund its that bad. Especially since no one has heard anything about it getting fixed.

So disappointing because I was really looking forward to the games.

I managed to play a bit on my Steam Deck and didn't have the audio issue, but I don't want to have to play this game on a small screen. I jumped back onto it on Steam via my PC further down the story and was able to play a bit on there as well, but I've noticed the audio becomes crackly/robotic again whenever there is rain in the game

At the start with Varric the audio issues were really bad on PC and it was heavily raining, and now I'm having the problem again in Arlathan Forest while there is light rain. But it does happen sporadically even without the rain, so maybe it's something to do with ambience or environmental sound effects in general?

  • I’ve been having this audio crackle in combat and market places in various cities/locations. It didn’t get better after the first patch.

I logged on today after the second patch. It’s even worse. Now everything is lagging and the audio is so distorted that it’s uncomfortable and unplayable at the moment.

  • This is still an issue for me several patches later. I've tried lowering my settings but the audio static persists. It's very frustrating to not have a fix.

    I've officially tried everything.

I've run the game in performance mode, given high priority, have disabled cores 0 and 1, turned on 1/2, 1/4, and fully turned off Vsynch, lowered my graphics settings and my CPU levels are normal so no bottleneck there. There are also no extra sound settings enabled. Plus I've completely turned down system sounds. I've been at this for hours and I'm at a loss.

I've been a huge fan of Dragon age since Origins and was so excited for Veilguard. I'ts really disappointing that this issue isn't fixed yet.

    Is there something I've missed?
