No one else is experiencing this? I don't get a directx code error just the freeze and the black screen for the cutscene. If I reload the autosave which was created I can see the see the cutscene but everyone is rendered horribly and afterwards the game goes into a completed bugged out arlathan map where if I try to enter the settings menu I freeze.
Update: Don't now what worked in particular but I was able to get past this part. Things I did.
Changed my graphics from low to the medium preset.
Disabled windowed optimizations for the game. (System/Display/Graphics/App/Options then ticking dont use windowed optimizations)
Disabled fulllscreen optimizations on exe (right click exe then go to Compability tab to find this option)
Changed Scale from 125% to 100%. (Display settings)
Something here allowed the scene to load properly and I am now roaming the light house.

I’m glad you were able to find a work around! I’ll have to try to see if that will work for my device or not.

Sadly none of these worked for me - but thanks for posting them.
Edit: if it helps anyone else I fixed my issues with a full uninstall and then reinstall.

I was experiencing this. I previously had the graphics set to custom and as bad as possible so that my laptop could run it, but the game would either stall entirely at the end of cutscenes or spit me out in a broken version of the area.
I fixed it by setting the graphics preset to poor and reducing the render scale (in display settings) from 100% to 50%. I'm glad to finally be able to play it.
