Veilguard Crashing

So Everytime I try to get  into the game I either crashs before the loading screen or after I try to make my rook. Is anyone else having that issue. Everything is up-to-date on my end so i don't know whats going wrong.

At this point idgaf im taking my money back because its obviously the Game creators fault and not listenting to people.

  • Yes. It's happening on Xbox Series X/PS5 too. There have been no updates from Bioware/EA on an ETA on the fix or even acknowledging they are aware of the issue.

I've  spoken to multiple people across multiple forums and nobody has gotten any feedback that they are aware of the issue.

I've made multiple threads, tagged the community manager, messaged them, and spoke with customer service and have had no progress.

Not sure really what to do; it's super **bleep** that there's people that still can't even play the game at all and there's no idea of when they'd be able to play again.

  • I wasn't crashing before, but now I am with Patch 3. It happens with I try to start Emmerich's companion quest in the Necropolis, and when I try to start the Hossberg Wetlands main story line, meaning, I cannot play the game past a certain point in the main storyline! EA_Illium please help!

I'm experiencing this as well. I had no issues until Patch 3, now my game crashes every time I try and load a save. I can't play at all now.

**SOLUTION for people with 13th or 14th gen Intel Processors**

While obviously I can't promise that this will work for you, after getting 2-4 CTD every hour for the last days since the patch, this is the ONLY thing that has worked, and it hasn't crashed since.

Update your bios. Especially if you have an Asus board. If you use the MyAsus app (Armoury Crate works too but its one of the worst softwares in existence) you can see your current firmware version. If you have anything older than I believe it was like 16, you need to get the newest. I updated to version 1805 and haven't experienced a crash since. It specifically even states in the BIOs updates that they added support for the newest gen Intel processors, so there's a good chance it will help fix other errors you might experience on your PC, too. Just go to System update, and download the driver there. Then use the renamer, then Run the .CAP file. You can either load it onto a USB, or depending on how new your board is, you can access your folders directly in the EZ Flash utility in your BIOs. Just hit F3 when you start it and you should be able to go from there. I assume its similar for other boards, but I have Asus so its the only one I know step by step how to do.

It might seem like a pain, but its 15 min of work that will fix the stability of your PC and -probably- fix all your crashing on DA.

  • I advise turning off the hair strand feature under graphics. My computer is 7 years old and I can run the game on ultra without problems if that setting is turned off. When I have it on, it encourages the game to freeze and the GPU to crash. Hopefully there will be a fix eventually, but that's how I solved the issue for me.

I think they "fixed" it by adding more VRAM leaks.

\o hi, haven’t commented before but its been over a week of crashing trying to play this game and i have tried everything short of a factory reset. Installed patch, repaired files, Still crashing. u_u

i was able to play the game on launch no issues, tried to fix some crunchy audio on 11/12/2024, haven't been able to run it since. 😭

UPDATE!! as of like. I wanna say the 23rd, ? honestly i don't remember exact day, but I FIXED MY issue. It may be helpful for others! SO somehow i created an utter mess on my desktop between Win updates, drivers, Armoury Crate, and ALL my games. i forgot to mention that my crashes extended to every game on my computer above a certain size back to Skyrim. The key hint was Genshin Impact being unaffected save for repairing files.

I suspect its tied to EAapp/Steam if you're having issues? Possibly?

I'm using a i710700K CPU, 16GB Memory, and a RTX3060, and Plenty of storage, and none of these components are showing any signs of problems outside of Specifically my Games.

What I did, was clear Everything Affected, including launchers. rolled Win update back, drivers back, uninstalled Realtek Audio Driver and Armoury Crate, AND EA and Steam, and all associated games. I did not remove any game save data as that's all stored separately in my Documents, not my Programs on either of my two drives. After everything was cleared, I slowly started redoing the drives and updates, and tested it with Skyrim (Win update caused its crash) and then Veilguard because it took 3 hours to install lol but it WORKED. Runs great, no longer causes huge Memory or CPU spikes, all temps and usage is stable again.

I can't guarantee it will solve everything, but if you're contemplating a full OS reinstall, try this first. Good luck guys!

  • Just downloaded Veilguard last night and it's crashed on the initial loading screen every single time. PS5 is used but brand new to us, so it was already factory reset. Game and console software are up to date. Have tried restarting, reinstalling, rebuilding, logging out/in, booting offline, nothing has worked. Super bummed. EA, please fix this!! It's obviously an issue a lot of users are having!

  • This may not help you but I will share my story. After crashing since patch 2:

My system has now been stable for 2 days with ZERO game crashes or even artifacts, while playing on ULTRA.. I don't know what exactly fixed it but here are the 3 things I changed.

    1. NVIDIA Control Panel Set Shadow Cache to 100GB.
    2. Update BIOS on my MPG Z790 CARBON WIFI mother board.
    3. Uninstalled and reinstalled the game completely.

Mine started crashing on Patch 2, I think. I had just place the Champion's Essence into the blighted door and it crashed. I now can't get into the area because I no longer have the essence and the door is back to its old self.  Any ideas????
