EA Promised to Fix My Account Linking Issue — Now They Just Keep Closing My Case
I’m posting this because I’ve had enough of EA’s customer service runaround.
I have a game I paid for (Battlefield 1) that I can’t even play because of EA’s outdated “lifetime linking” policy. My old Steam account was permanently deleted under GDPR, but EA’s system still thinks my EA account is linked to it — meaning I can’t link my new Steam account and play my game.
When I contacted EA Support, the agent clearly promised me they would escalate my case and that “they will help you, don’t worry.” You can see it in the screenshot below. They acknowledged the issue, confirmed it needed “special assistance,” and told me to wait up to 72 hours for resolution.
Instead, they just keep closing my case without fixing anything.
No updates. No explanation. Just silence until the ticket is closed.
EA blocking me from using something I purchased, over a database entry that could be fixed in minutes.
