Don't know what happened, after EA updated at 0800 UTC (2:00 am CST USA) I now get a black screen on launch of BF2042. This is happening to other people in the Battlefield Discord server.
EDIT: This is the new EA Desktop Games Manager. Not Origin, Not Steam.
Community ManagerIf you updated your video drivers before seeing this issue, reverting to the previous drivers is advised, thanks.
@ProStar-GhostHad the black screen earlier, and it got fixed when I launched the game from Origin. After that it worked with Ea Desktop too.
I played yesterday without problems, but today after the update I get the black screen again and I can't fix it. Friend had the same prob, but reboot did the trick. I did nothing over the night (like update drivers) but only updated the game.
Edit: It's not completely frozen in black screen. Console seems to work.
Edit2: This time only the re-install fixed the issue. It's working for now.
Same issue it launches into a permanent black screen after installing latest patch, was working fine yesterday.

Same issue. I updated latest Nvidia driver this morning.
I am having the same problem. The game was running fine until the update this morning. I get the black screen too. Very frustrating.
