EA Pass games nor working after changing from Origin to EA App

Had EA pass and had to move from origin to the EA app (PC)

Several games appear as installed eg PVZ B4N, Battlefront 1/2 but do not offer any "PLAY" option. There is just an option to "MANAGE and a greyed out INSTALL option. (see pic)

I've only ever had one logon and have tried uninstalling and re-installing the EA app with no joy. I can see the games are installed on my hard drive and everything was fine up until March when i switched to EA App.

It appears that the EA app has become confused. It will not let me play the games, nor install or uninstall them. My account indicates that it has a valid EA Play pass which includes access to the 3 games above.

I'm happy to do a full reset and re-install everything - just have no idea how to do that. At present I cannot move forwards nor backwards.

Help anyone?

All good. So if you cannot uninstall them from within the launcher, go to your control panel in Windows, and under Programs locate the game and uninstall it.

I go one step further and delete the game folder from the main file path that it should be in which is typically Something like C:\Program Files\Dragon Age Inquisition ⬅️ For example.

A path mismatch could be a cause yes. Thankfully that is an easy fix. When you install the game again, you just make sure it is on the same drive the app is. This will have defaulted when you install the game, so if that changes, you just change the drive to match the same file location.

@sleepytigger2 From the screenshot i see it shows greyed because it sees it as installed or partially installed at one point. This also happens when the launcher and the game are on two different drives or file locations than they should be.

If you go into control panel and uninstall one it should fix that but also clearing the App cache and using recovery option from the settings can fix that too.

  • Thanks for this. I figured it might be something along those lines.

How do I Uninstall and reinstall the games? I couldn't see any option in the EA launcher to do that?

Is it that I have a path mismatch between where the game is installed and there the launcher thinks it is?

Apologies for the silly questions but the launcher totally baffles me 😂I'm very happy with how Windows launches and controls programs... It's just the launcher that is the baign of my life.

Thanks again for your help 👍
